I think our table saws are a little different, though. I have a spare motor that I’ll put on the jointer so I can store it out of the way when I’m using the table saw.ĭavid – I like the restoration you did on the old Beissemeyer! If I could find one of those, I’d do the same. I plan on building a new stand for both the table saw and jointer because I use the table saw way more than I use the jointer. The attached jointer is on the left side, but I have plans to separate the jointer from the table saw. I’m not worried about how far to the left the rails extend.

I’d truly appreciate any advice y’all could give, and I really look forward to making some really straight rip cuts in the future! 30″ – 36″ is about all the room I can afford in my shop. I’m also limited in space to my 20′ x 20′ garage, so I can’t put a gigantic 50″ fence rail on the saw. I’m not sure of the spacing on the existing mount threads, but I wouldn’t be opposed to drilling and tapping new mount holes if necessary. I’m getting tired of having to clamp a chunk of flat-edged thick wood to the fence to make cuts.ĭoes anyone have any suggestions on a high-quality rip fence I could purchase? It’s nowhere near flat, and difficult to keep in alignment. I’ve found that the original rip fence is terribly inaccurate. I’ve been using it for about 15 or 20 years now.

My grandfather bought the Delta/Rockwell 10″ tilting arbor table saw and 6″ jointer combination back around 1956. In fact, once we determine what you have, I'll look through my stack and see what I can spare for you.I’m wanting to get a new rip fence for my table saw. Have them professionally sharpened and you'll be good to go. You'll want a crosscut and a rip and a planer or a combination. Delta, Atkins, Simmonds and Craftsman all had a variety of high-quality blades. The BOYD ad and looking closely in thrift stores and estate sales should turn up several 8" and 10" steel blades. Since everyone wants carbide tipped blades these days, no one uses the 9" steel blades anymore, so they're actually easy to find. Then, once you're familiar with your saw, put a WTB ad on their BOYD classifieds. Whatever, we can help you without a photo and a model number. The older Delta 8" and 10 are nice little homeowners bench saws. In any case, it's not what today is termed a "contractors saw." That is a larger, heavier 10" saw with a larger rip fence. But without a photo, it didn't happen.Īre you sure it's a 9"? Most Deltas were 8" or 10". Congrats - Free is the best of all possible deals.
